Wildcard Scholarship

We fund Claude Code seats for people the price currently excludes — and we pay attention to what they do with the leverage.

Most of what the world knows about tools like this comes from one narrow demographic: well-paid, English-speaking, productivity-driven. We suspect some of the most interesting uses of AI coding leverage will be invented by the people it currently prices out — differently placed, differently motivated. The seats are how we find out; what we learn is published in aggregate.

Claude Code Global Scholarship

How selection works

Selection is a gate, not a contest: against a published rubric (AI-assisted, human-checked) we verify that the need is real and that the seat would actually get used — then a publicly seeded lottery decides among everyone qualified. We don't rank applications, because the uses we're most curious about can't be predicted from an essay. The rubric, process, and code are open.

Who's behind this

Two friends — one in North America, one in Europe — who think covering seats like this does real good for very little money, and that whatever people do with them will be worth studying. It's an independent two-person project: the code, rubric, and selection process are all public. Questions? Email hello@wildcardscholarship.org.
